Initial Setup
Purchase either or 1# or a 5# Complete Sprouting Kit. Select the best size for the number of birds you care for. This will get you started. You’ll see how easy it is to properly grow sprouts.
Monthly Maintenance
A one pound bag of either our Original or Wheat-Free Sprouting Blend makes approximately 9 1/2 cups of sprouts.

A five pound bag of either our Original or Wheat-Free Sprouting Blend will make nearly 47 cups of sprouts.

The rate of use
is directly linked to the amount of our Sprouting Blends you feed each day.
- Birds with a health condition or symptoms will want to receive a volume of up to 50% – or more – of our Sprouting Blend each day. In other words 50% (or more of our Sprouting Blend) to 50% other appropriate wholesome foods.
- For birds with no apparent symptoms – those in good health – 1 to 3 heaping tablespoons per bird, depending on their size.

When sprouting the mixture at a rate of 1 tablespoon per bird per day – as discussed in our book “The Complete Guide to Successful Sprouting for Birds” – a 1 pound bag will last one budgerigar (parakeet) for approximately 6 to 12 weeks or longer. This varies based on the amount of sprouts fed each day.
A 5 pound bag of either our Original or Wheat-Free Sprouting Blend will feed 9 parrots (ranging in size from budgerigar (parakeet) to a large macaw for between 6 to 8 to 12 weeks – or longer. This time will vary and depends directly on the amount of sprouts you feed daily to each bird.
Suggested Feeding Amounts
Symptom Free Birds
Feed 1 to 3 tablespoons of sprouts per bird per day – depending upon the size of the bird. This fed along with raw or steamed organic vegetables and/or fresh organic fruit is the foundation diet for a healthy and well nourished bird.

Birds with Existing Health Conditions
For birds with existing health conditions feed a volume of up to 50% – or more – of our Sprouting Blend each day. In other words 50% (or more of our Sprouting Blend) to 50% other appropriate wholesome foods.
